Love is for Everyone0
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the staff at Amazing Grapes wants to help in making this day special for you. We have brought forth an extraordinary selection of champagnes and wines that will surely impress your valentine. But that’s not all; we’ve divulged in some enjoyable ideas that you can do this holiday, instead of the normal bank-breaking dinner people usually prepare for.
I don’t want to keep you waiting, so let’s dive in to what unique selection we have just for you! Get ready, because there’s a lot of fine ones.
Let’s start off with the Iron Horse Brut Rosé. Composed of 63% Pinot Noir and 37% Chardonnay, this sparkling rose boasts bright colors and bold flavors. In the mouth, it reveals strawberry, raspberry and black cherry that ends with a soft, dry mouth-feel. Good to pair with similarly colored foods like salmon, shrimp, lobster and rainbow trout.
Next is the Caposaldo Sweet Red Sparkling wine. It is 55% Malvasia Nera and 45% Merlot. This lightly sweet wine delivers intense floral and red berry aromas and flavors. It also has fresh and vivacious bubbles. It would be delicious with an antipasti salad that included salami and prosciutto and desserts like tarts and pies.
The South Coast Ruby Cuvee is a sparkling Syrah that has hints of berry, lavender and supple tannins that are signature notes. It has a sweet, tart finish coupled with tannins that are lifted by the tiny bubbles. It would taste good with winter squash, ziti with root vegetables and yellow rice with peas.
Our Gosset Grand Rosé is salmon pink, tending toward cherry. A generous, assertive bouquet of small red fruit, with just a hint of spiciness, progresses into a dry, elegant flavor that is fresh and lively, delicate and yet intense. This would be magnificent for a duck prosciutto.
Gosset Grand Reservé is 46% Chardonnay, 39% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier. It has powerful, pungent aromas of pear, orange pith, baking spices and dried flowers, with a mineral overtone. Dry and incisive on the palate, offering lively citrus and orchard fruit flavors and slow-building smokiness. Nervy and taut on the finish, leaving notes of allspice and candied citrus fruits behind. This pairs well with chicken, guinea fowl or any lighter meats.
J Brut Rosé is a lovely blend of 59% Pinot Noir and 41% Chardonnay. It opens with flavors of cherry, blood orange, citrus peel and tropical star fruit that are underlined by a bright acidity that keeps the overall impression delightfully fresh. It would go perfectly well with poultry, creamy pasta dishes, seafood, seasonal soups and assorted cheeses.
Bonaccorsi 2009 Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills is bright red. Explosively perfumed nose offers an exotic array of red and dark berries, flowers and Asian spices. Sweet raspberry and blueberry liqueur flavors stain the palate, with zesty minerality providing lift and focus. Pairs well with shellfish, pasta & risotto, salmon and chicken.
Roederer Estate NV Brut has a lovely baked apple and toast aromas with a hint of vanilla. Very lively-mouth feel with croissant, honey and orange zest flavors. Crisp acidity reflects a tart, youthful finish. It would go really well with anything seafood and Asian dishes like charred squid, pan fried scallops, pad Thai and spicy crab cakes.
Nicolas Feuillatte Rosé is firm, with a lively bead and a minerally base note mixing with flavors of grilled plum, white raspberry, biscuit and candied orange zest. Ground ginger and flavors of raspberry, strawberry and red currants are also present. Would be delightful with couscous pilaf, pan-seared strip steak, rosemary and garlic lamb chops and beef fillets.
Schramsberg Brut Rosé is resoundly rich and exhibits bright, red fruit flavors. It has a fine complexity with a long, richly flavored finish. Try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, pizza, roast chicken and BBQ ribs.
Schramsberg Cremant is a delicious sparkler with spicy, floral aromatics, and apricot and peach flavors that will gently caramelize with further aging in the bottle. It will pair well with poached fruit, fruit tarts, exotic sorbets, foie gras and a wide range of spicy Asian foods.
